Tessen

We believe you know we carry Tessen, a kind of Samurai weapon but for decoration purpose now.
So many customers all over world love Japanese martial arts and purchased them from us.Thank you very much!

Now, Tessen of Fu Rin Kazan (of Takeda Shingen) and Bishamonten (of Uesugi Kenshin) are sold out. (And unfortunately they are discontinued).
We have less stocks for other Tessen too.

And today, let us present Tessen of 6 coins of Sanada, above picture.

The six rings are Japanese old coin (mon). This mark is Sanada Yukimura and his family cran's flag mark, called ROKUMONSEN (roku = 6, Mon= Japanese Old currency, Sen = coins)

In Japanese old superstition or a kind of religious belief, we will go over a river named SANZU.
This literary means "three ways crossing". Three is Buddhism's key number. This river is believed as line of life and death.

To cross this river, you have to pay 6 Mon as the "last boat" fare. The 6 is told as 6 ways of reincarnation based on Buddhism.

Sanada's 6 coins flag mark means, he is ready for death , never afraid his death in his war fields.

We love his Samurai-ships, his manly life.

New Obi line ups for men

We added 11 new Obi for men.
right two have five colours. This series is recommendable for casual wears.
Middle two is grey and black, we have other four colors in this series. Simple coloured Obi, but have pattern woven. Very gorgeous obi. They might be good with bit formal ones.

The last one is the new color of our cotton Kenjou-obi. Beige one. Kenjou Obi is really recommendable because it is go with wide range of Kimono such as casual or formal.

Hope you will add new Obi in your closet, Kimono gentlemen!

We added a big size Zouri. size 4L, of which length is 30cm. Traditionally we wear one size smaller Zouri as our heels out from Zouri's sole. So this Zouri covers 31cm or 32cm shoe sizes.

For beginners, we recommend a just size Zouri or Geta. You might feel bit too tight for the first few times (even selected just-size). After a few times, it would be fit comfortably.

We added new item. Makimono.
In old period in Japan, we wrote messages and notes in a paper roll. As you might know, vertically written was common. When you mistook , tear the paper where you mistook and join the white new place.

The above Makimono roll is just like Missho or something written in secret or something very important.

We wish you enjoy shopping at BOKUNAN-DO.

We added new Jin-Baori. Jin-Baori is a vest worn on Yoroi-Kabuto. Recently we can see coordination with Hakama style too.

Do you know why Japanese loves the hexagons  pattern and often used for Jin-Baori?
Because, the hexagon is wishes for enlightenment of power to all direction. This pattern is called "KIKKOU", Turtle's shell. Turtle is also popular motif in Japan as longevity.

We hope you will enjoy our line-ups, even just looking them.

Thank you for your visiting this blog!
